The Next Big Thing Blog Hop

I’ve been tagged to participate in The Next Big Thing Blog Hop by my friend and fellow writer Tony Perona.  This is a round robin of blogging by writers and I’m answering some questions about my latest WIP, or work in progress.  For those of you who don’t know, I’m a multi-published writer of mostly odd romance things-time travel, paranormal, historical, fantasy.  I call this genre Weird Romance.

Now, let’s move onto the questions!

What is the title of your next book?  My latest novel is titled The Fairy Godmother Chronicles

Where did the idea come from for the book?  Honestly, I got tired of reading romance novels with 20-somethings as the protagonist.  In my 50’s now, I have a hard time relating to their lives.  Maggie, my main character, is in her late 40’s.

What genre does your book fall under?  Are there really any more one word genres?  The Chronicles is a contemporary paranormal…my hope is that it’s humorous too 🙂

What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?  Cinderella meets the Mid-life Crisis.

Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?  I’ve learned that genre books don’t do so well self-published.  This one with either make the rounds of pubs and agents, or go to my current publisher, Lachesis Publishing.  Mostly depends on the market and what everyone’s looking for.

How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?  Well, this one is still in progress but, when I’m steadily writing, it takes me about 3 or 4 months to create the draft for a 400 page novel.

Who or What inspired you to write this book?  After writing 5 novels, I was looking to step outside of my historical, third person comfort zone and try something different.  The Fairy Godmother Chronicles is contemporary and first person…both challenging and fun to write!

What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?  I’d say, read my other books.  Check out my style.  See if my voice is for you 🙂  And you can find them all at Amazon (with great deals on the Kindle versions) – .

Thanks for stopping by!

peace out.
